Addiction and Recovery Therapy in Marin County
I offer addiction therapy and recovery-focused psychotherapy for adults navigating substance use, compulsive behaviors, and the deeper emotional patterns that often accompany them. Over the past two decades, I have worked extensively with a wide range of addictions, including alcohol, drugs, sex and love addiction, workaholism, and codependency.
Many clients I work with are high-functioning, yet find themselves repeating patterns that don’t align with how they want to live.

I support individuals at every stage of recovery — whether you are sober curious, struggling to maintain sobriety, or more established in your recovery process. Addiction and recovery therapy provides a space to explore not only behaviors, but also the underlying emotional experiences, relational patterns, and nervous system responses that drive them. Together, we focus on deeper, lasting change — not just managing symptoms, but understanding and transforming the underlying patterns that drive them. A strong support system is essential for both individuals and families impacted by addiction. Psychotherapy can be a vital part of that system, offering a consistent, compassionate relationship where healing and change can take root over time.

I also work with adult children of alcoholics and individuals who come from dysfunctional family systems. Addiction within a family often extends beyond one person’s substance use, shaping patterns of communication, attachment, and emotional regulation across generations. Many of these patterns can feel “normal” simply because they are familiar. Adult children of alcoholics often carry patterns that developed in response to growing up in an unpredictable or emotionally inconsistent environment. These patterns may include people-pleasing, difficulty trusting others, challenges with boundaries, or a tendency to prioritize others’ needs over their own. Healing as an adult child of an alcoholic is not about blaming the past, but about understanding its impact and creating new ways of relating to yourself and others in the present.

Through addiction and recovery therapy, clients begin to recognize these patterns and access new ways of relating to themselves and others. This work often includes building internal resources, increasing self-awareness, and reconnecting with a greater sense of agency, stability, and self-trust.

I offer addiction therapy and recovery-focused psychotherapy for adults in Marin County and throughout California via telehealth.
